Your Member of Parliament needs to hear directly from you.

The only way to influence the outcome of the upcoming vote on redefining marriage is for thousands of Canadians to personally express themselves. Calling or writing your MP are critically important activities for all pro-marriage voters to undertake. Visiting your MP in small groups can have an even greater impact.

Sample MP Phone Message

"Good afternoon, my name is Mrs. Roberts. I live at 555 Main Street in Pleasant City and I would like to leave a message for my MP. I would like my MP to vote to oppose the Liberal bill that will redefine marriage. I believe marriage should remain the union of one man and one woman. Could you inform the Member that how he (or she) votes on this bill will greatly affect how I vote in the next election."

Write letters to MP

MPs notice when they receive mail from their constituents. Keep letters and e-mails brief, never more than one page. Include the information contained in the phone message above, but also consider adding a few points from our Commentary page or Why defendMARRIAGE page.

Visit your MP

Set up an appointment to visit your MP. Go in small groups - there is comfort in numbers. Be polite, but firm in stating that you want your MP to vote down the Liberal bill redefining marriage. Take along some articles from our Commentary page and review the Why defendMARRIAGE page for strong arguments in defence of marriage.

Order Brocures

The defendMARRIAGE two-colour, two-fold brochure explains the problem with redefining marriage and gives voters simple tips on how they can defend the definition of marriage in their own community. The Defence of Marriage Coalition will send out quantities of this brochure to anyone who requests them. Please make a modest donation to cover our printing and shipping costs.

Order a Lawn Sign

The defendMARRIAGE lawn signs are made with a durable, high quality plastic that will not fade and can withstand all weather conditions. The defendMARRIAGE Coalition will send individual signs to anyone who requests one. We suggest a donation of $5 or more to cover the costs to our campaign.
