Redefining marriage will harm children, violate the human rights of people of faith, undermine our culture and subvert the very democratic nature of our land.
For Our Children
Children are the most vulnerable members of society. Redefining marriage will affect children deeply. Redefining marriage will create a new right to homosexual adoption and fostering. It will require teachers and schools to instruct innocent children that homosexual behaviour is moral. And, it will forever debase a proper understanding of what marriage is in impressionable young minds.
For Our Faith
Pastors, priests and other faith leaders will face the threat of prosecution for refusing to perform homosexual 'weddings.' Churches and other religious organizations can expect to lose their charitable status, property tax-exempt status and other government exemptions for 'discriminating' on the basis of "sexual orientation." Redefining marriage will violate the human rights of all people of faith in Canada.
For Our Culture
Canada was founded on Judeo-Christian principles that, according to our constitution, recognize the supremacy of God. Our culture is founded upon marriage. It forms the basis of our society. Redefining marriage is a radical social experiment that will hurt many people over time and will severely undermine our culture.
For Canada!
Redefining marriage does not reflect the vision the Fathers of Confederation had for our nation. And, it is not supported by the majority of Canadians. Yet, this proposal is being thrust on us undemocratically. Unelected and unaccountable judges have led the charge. Now, Prime Minister Paul Martin is forcing his cabinet ministers to support the bill to redefine marriage even while he is claiming the vote will be "free." Democracy itself has been subverted.
